Dear Ybarra Parents:
Ybarra is looking for parents interested in being part of our 2012-2013 School Site Council (SSC) or English Language Learner Committee (ELAC).
What is the purpose of the School Site Council? The School Site Council has the ongoing responsibility to plan, monitor and review the K-8 School Based Coordinated Program. Members of the School Site Council help review and critique new curriculum, school policies, budget, and areas of school-wide effectiveness.
What is the purpose of the English Language Learners Committee? Members learn more about the programs offered to their children. They provide input to the principal and school staff of the most positive and effective strategies for teaching English Learners. Provide input on the most effective ways to support full participation of English Learners in all school activities. ELAC also gives input on the most effective ways to ensure regular school attendance. Most importantly, it provides the opportunity to have Ybarra representation at the district level by the attendance of elected officials at the District English Language Advisory Council (DELAC) meetings.
Meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. in the Library.
Serving on the Council is an interesting and rewarding way for you to participate in the education of our Ybarra students. If you are interested in becoming a member of the School Site Council, please fill out the bottom portion below and return it to Mr. Ochoa.
Your input is very valuable for the improvement of our school. Won’t you join us? For additional information, please feel free to call me at the school office at (909) 598-3744.
If you are interested please email me by August 31: [email protected]
Sincerely,
Carlos Ochoa
Vice Principal
